Finite Element Methoden in der Strukturmechanik

Start: Wednesday, 15.10.2008, 10:00, Room S4|10-01

The class provides an introduction to Finite Element Analysis (FEA). This technique is widely-used in practise especially to solve structural problems. Today, FEA has established as a fundamental part of the design process.

Basics of structural mechanics, the resulting equations and their discretisation by use of an isoparametric concept are presented. Furthermore methods of grid generation and algorithms for solving algebraic equation systems are discussed. To get information about the quality of the numerical simulation, in the context of adaptive grid refinement several approaches for error estimation are compared.

The lectures will be held in german. For further informations please visit the german webpage.
